After two months of the public knowing BABYMONSTER as seven members, YG Entertainment shocked fans when they revealed the group would “never be” seven.

BABYMONSTER will never be a seven member group. It will definitely be less than seven.

Since then, they’ve announced they’ll be holding a “last evaluation” of the members to determine the group’s final line-up.

After splitting the pre-debut group into two teams and focusing on Team A in the first episode, this week’s episode focused on RoraAsaChiquita, and Haram, who made up Team B.

The song chosen for Team B was BLACKPINK‘s “Stay,” and who better to monitor their performance than BLACKPINK’s Jennie?

Last episode, Jennie also monitored Team A’s performance of Rosé‘s “Gone” and gave the BABYMONSTER members advice she wished she had heard as a trainee.

After her praise, she became serious. Although she surprised the BABYMONSTER members, Jennie delivered invaluable advice showing her pro status after seven years as a successful idol.

Jennie asked if any of the members considered they were performing for her and not just practicing.

Jennie pointed out that Team B spent more time looking in the mirror than they did at Jennie, who was monitoring the members.

Her reason for becoming more serious was to again give advice she wished she had known when she was a trainee.

If you don’t sing as if you’re really delivering to the listener no matter how good you are, I won’t be touched by the singing. That was something I wish I [had] done better. If you do that in real life, the attention will turn to someone else because the performer is not giving the listener attention.

Jennie’s sincere advice touched the BABYMONSTER members, and Jennie became a doting sunbae as she encouraged them to cheer up while again praising their talents.
