On December 11, BTS‘s RM and V enlisted for their mandatory military service, being sent off by the other members, including those currently serving.

RM was also sent off by his family and friends, as ARMY worldwide sent their well-wishes. Fans were especially left in their feelings by his heartfelt letter.

With Christmas quickly approaching, places around the world have begun celebrating accordingly. This includes the Universal Studios theme park, which turns into Whoville each year.

Whoville is the setting for more than one of Dr. Seuss‘s fantastic tales, including his book How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The book was adapted into a 2000 film starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch and his hilarious take on the character has remained popular today.

An ARMY visiting the park on the day of RM’s enlistment was able to record an exclusive message for the idol from none other than The Grinch himself.
The Grinch started his message with a salute, saying he heard that RM would enlist and to send him some “Christmas cheer.”

He then says that RM is taking on a big duty, and mentions he has his own big “package” to carry around himself.

ARMY found the video hilarious, even tagging Jungkook in the comments hoping that RM would see the shout-out.
