North & South America’s Top 5 Most Popular K-Pop Acts Revealed In Government Survey

The Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) conducted the Global Hallyu Trends survey again this year, and the results for 2023 have just been made public. The survey looks into how Korean cultural content is perceived globally. It included 25,000 men and women from 26 different countries who were between the ages of 15 and 59.

All regions of the world were taken into consideration, with the results for North and South American countries being as follows.

1. United States

BTS leads the US top 5 with 37.2%, while BLACKPINK follow as second with 10.1%. PSY takes thrid with 2.2%, with Rain‘s 0.7% securing him the fourth spot. The top 5 is wrapped up by EXO and IU iwth 0.5% each.

2. Canada

The number one spot is occupied by BTS through the group’s 40.6% dominance. BLACKPINK takes second again with 8.6%, while PSY remains third in Canada too through his 3.4%. BIGBANG sit fourth with 1.1% whiel Girls’Generation, AILEE and TWICE all share the fifth spot with 0.8% each.

3. Mexico

BTS’s dominance continues in Mexico as well, with their 46.2% securing the group almost half of the overall survey votes. BLACKPINK’s 11% places them second and TWICE’s 2.4 placed them third. PSY takes the fourth spot with 2.2%, while Super Junior have their first appearance with 1.4%.

4. Brazil

BTS lead the Brazil top 5 with 36.7%, while BLACKPINK follow as second with 8.8%. PSY is third once again with 6%, and the fourth spot goes to EXO who enjoy 2.2%. TWICE and Sunmi share the fifth spot with 0.7%.

5. Argentina

The country gives BTS their biggest lead, with the group occupying 49.9% of the poll results. BLACKPINK take second place with 8.4% while PSY holds third with 2.1. TWICE sit fourth enjoying 1.4% of the votes while BTS’s main vocalist Jungkook wraps up the top 5 with 0.7%.
