During the live stream, the idol gained attention for talking about the topic of manners and bowing. In April, Stray Kids were one of the acts that traveled to Paris to perform a special Music Bank show.
When asked about the experience, Bang Chan couldn’t stop gushing about how fun it was being able to perform in front of fans, especially as they hadn’t been to Paris in a long time with other amazing K-Pop artists.

Bang Chan then went on to share some worries as he explained, “I don’t know if I just sound like a boomer…” as he spoke about the generational differences he noticed when it comes to manners.
I feel like it’s come to the point where greeting someone is not considered as basic manners.

The idol then shared that he wasn’t cussing people out but sharing his reaction to not being greeted when interacting with people walking by. He also added that the “new” generation seems more relaxed about the custom of “greeting” people.
I’m not like cussing people out or anything, but I feel like I’m thinking too much about it because if you see someone walk by, you say annyeonghaseyo, then if they don’t reply back, you’d be like, ‘WTF…okay.’ But I feel like it’s come to the point where this generation is allowed to do that, just not care, if that’s right.

Although he didn’t specify, Bang Chan revealed that he had had a few experiences where people hadn’t returned his greeting. Yet, it also seemed like he was doubting whether his grievances were valid, worrying that he was “overthinking.”
I guess there were a few scenarios where that would happen. At first, I was like, okay, then the more I thought about it, I was like, maybe I am overexaggerating. Maybe, I’m thinking too much about it. Maybe, I’m a boomer.

Bang Chan then said that, although he feels he is overthinking it and greeting might not be that significant, he would continue to do it.
But I mean from my perspective, whoever it is, I’m going to say hi the best I can because I am here to have fun and greet people I like and respect.

Of course, the comments wanted to know who Bang Chan was talking about, but the idol refused, adding that although he said it, there could be reasons why he wasn’t greeted.
I’m not going to say names, but I guess some people that I don’t know, I guess it’s like that. Maybe that could be the reason why, because there’s no connection. Maybe, they could’ve been shy or nervous.

When the clip was shared online, netizens praised Bang Chan for being so open about the issues and his opinions. While many tried to guess the groups he was speaking about, most focused on how valid his views were and that Bang Chan shouldn’t feel bad or call himself a “Boomer” for those views.
Bang Chan is always honest with fans and uses Chan’s Room to chat about what has been happening and his feelings. Although the Stra Kids leader shared his thoughts, the idol once again made sure to share a balanced view on why it could have been the case.
