But more than the addictive song and stunning visuals, Jisoo, who was creatively involved in the entire process, told a story through her incredibly cinematic “FLOWER” music video.

Jisoo participated in the composition of her own album and literally helped with every single thing included in her album. Jisoo wasn’t lying when she said that she was involved in every step of the creative processpic.twitter.com/12HtwZ0pUb

Here are ten details in the “FLOWER” music video you might have missed.

1. The actual story

Although Jisoo’s visuals and performance are effortlessly distracting, Jisoo’s music video provided fans with an Everything Everywhere All at Once style chronology that made the entire video feel even more cinematic. Of course, Jisoo’s acting skills helped sell the changing timelines as she portrayed different emotions and changes in styling to help distinguish each section.

2. The constant integration of flowers

While some of the flowers appearing in the music video are understandably prominent…

Other designs are more subtle, like when they’re included in Jisoo’s outfits or hidden behind other, more prominent flower designs.

3. The lens flare

When the music video makes a sudden, unexpected shift in the color scheme while showing off the choreography for the song’s chorus, Jisoo shows off a bright red flower, which is enhanced by a perfectly placed lens flare. The scene feels like something straight out of a Marvel movie, as it perfectly highlights the choreography.

4. The reason the video is so satisfying

The way the video is edited synchronizes with Jisoo’s footsteps and Jisoo’s dancing also perfectly suits the melody.

5. Jisoo’s conflicting emotions

As the multiple “timelines” continually contrast, Jisoo perfectly shows off a range of conflicting yet understandable emotions. Like in this shift where she goes from crying to incredibly confident. There’s no denying that Jisoo’s acting in the music video was astounding.

6. The flower necklace

From the beginning of the music video, Jisoo is bothered by her flower necklace.

And at the end, she pulls it off, finally discarding it. Likely showing off how she has “blossomed” into a better, more comfortable version of herself.

7. The parallel to “LALISA”

In both Lisa‘s solo “LALISA” and Jisoo’s “FLOWER,” the two idols start walking away from the camera before turning to face it and showing off their confidence and power.

Or staring in the mirror, there are certainly parallels between the two cinematic and emotionally charged videos.

9. The parallels to “SOLO”

Like “FLOWER” and “On The Ground,” Jennie‘s “SOLO” also included throwing away flowers and staring in the mirror.

But other shots of “FLOWER” feel reminiscent of “SOLO,” especially when Jisoo is next to a car…

Or dancing in very similar ballrooms. Notice how for Jennie you can see out the three windows, but the drapes are closed for Jisoo’s scene. Given how close and supportive BLACKPINK are with each other, it shouldn’t be surprising that the members hinted at each other’s incredible solo releases.

10. The Dior sponsorship

As Dior‘s ambassador, it’s no surprise that Jisoo highlighted the brand throughout her music video, whether through a direct reference…
