Group Of Boys Spot Sexually Harassing A Mannequin On The Streets Of Hongdae…Police Fails To Act
In a recent news report, it was reported that on December 25, 2023, a group of boys had sexually harassed a mannequin in Hongdae, Seoul. The mannequin had been displaying underwear outside a lingerie store. The boys had removed the underwear on the mannequin and proceeded to act lewdly with the doll, mimicking sexual acts.
A staff on hand had only realized the matter later and was shocked while reviewing the CCTV footage. She saw the boys touching the mannequin inappropriately before removing the underwear on display. They also hugged the mannequin and acted out sexual motions on the doll.

As someone who has to clean and dress up the mannequins daily, she is now repulsed by the thought of moving and touching the mannequin after witnessing the act on CCTV.
Although she reported the matter to the police, they refused to act, claiming that the police only investigate when people are directly violated. They claimed that “this looked like they were joking around,” hence it would be hard to launch an investigation. They advised her to seek legal advice.
